Loveland Ski Area, high up on the Continental Divide, is one of Colorado's top ski and snowboard spots. Skiers and riders will find a variety of terrain when they ride or ski around the Eisenhower Tunnel east of the Divide.

The Ridge

Loveland's advanced and expert skiing and snowboarding can be accessed by Chair 9 high up on the mountain. You'll find The Ridge, a vast selection of wide open bowls in the alpine with lots of bumps and steeps.

You will also find many steep, challenging gullies throughout the Ridge. This terrain is possible to traverse, subject to conditions. You can also do it by snowcat.

Basin

This is where you will find the majority of Loveland's snowboard and ski terrain. This area is served 6 of the 8 ski lifts and contains 85% the 1,800 acres.

This is the larger of the two areas that make up Loveland. It includes all the ski schools, bars, restaurants, bars and sports shops as well as rental shops.

It's also home to the largest apres ski bar on the mountain, The Rathskeller. It's just off the Loveland Deli. The perfect spot to grab a cup of hot cocoa after a long day at the mountain.

There's even a ski school here to help you get up to speed if you're new to the sport. The Loveland Valley region is separated from Basin. This is a great area for beginners to learn how to ski and snowboard.


Loveland is a great choice for both skiers and riders. It's also a popular destination among locals. It is a great option for families with young children because the prices are typically lower than those of other popular areas.

Spillway and Lift 2 have seen significant progress by the snowmaking team in the past few nights. They should be in a position to open the bottom part of the hill this weekend.

Opening Day was a smashing success! It was amazing to be out on the mountain with so many people and to enjoy the new trails.

Loveland got several inches more snow this week. Tomorrow's Mountain Ops meeting should provide some more information about terrain openings. We'll keep you posted!

Another storm is predicted for this weekend. We hope to get more snow on the upper mountain. We are currently making snow across 240 acres. Our goal is to complete snowmaking by early December.

This is Loveland’s first snowfall in quite a while.

It was a great first day of skiing in Loveland. With 18 inches of snow at the base and a top to bottom mile run, it was a perfect way to kick off the season!
